Opportunity: An aircraft manufacturer wanted to reduce energy consumption in specific areas of two of its facilities in Connecticut.
WESCO Solution: WESCO supplied 120 250-watt high-pressure sodium high-bay fixtures for one facility and 100 of the same fixtures for the other. The new fixtures offer a calculated energy savings of 121,116 kWh with a cost savings of $15,987 for the first facility and 100,930 kWh with a cost savings of $13,323 for the second, both with an ROI in less than a year.
Result: Combined Energy Savings for Two Facilities of $29,310!

Opportunity: An aircraft manufacturing company wanted to reduce energy consumption in the machine shop, transmission build-up, government crib, and VH area at one of its Connecticut facilities.
WESCO Solution: WESCO supplied a total of 158 400-watt high-pressure sodium high-bay lighting fixtures: 70 for the machine shop with a calculated energy savings of 114,444 kWh, or $15,107; 48 for transmission build-up with a calculated energy savings of 124,733 kWh, or $16,465; and 40 for the government crib with a calculated energy savings of 101,464 kWh, or $13,393. For the VH area, WESCO supplied 17 400-watt metal-halide high-bay fixtures, offering a calculated energy savings of 44,176 kWh, or $5,831. The lighting upgrades in all four areas are expected to yield an ROI in less than a year.
Result: Combined Energy Savings for Four Areas of $50,796!

Opportunity: An aircraft manufacturing company wanted to reduce energy consumption in the maintenance building and the receiving department at its headquarters facility.
WESCO Solution: For the maintenance building, WESCO supplied 56 400-watt metal-halide lighting fixtures, calculated to yield an energy savings of 167, 207 kWh, or $22,071. For the receiving department, WESCO supplied six 400-watt and six 250-watt high-pressure sodium high-bay lighting fixtures, calculated to save 28,369 kWh, or $3,745. Both lighting upgrade projects yield an ROI in less than a year.
Result: Combined Energy Savings for Two Areas of $25,816!

Opportunity: An engine manufacturer wanted to reduce energy consumption in one of the buildings at its headquarters facility.
WESCO Solution: WESCO supplied 900 400-watt metal-halide high-bay lighting fixtures. Based on energy savings calculations derived from a lighting audit, CL&P rebate, and layout, these new fixtures reduce energy consumption by 1,689,300 kWh, resulting in a savings of $185,824 with an ROI in less than a year.
Result: Energy Savings of $185,824!
